Descriptions: This position is for someone with experience or interest in non-profit fundraising and grant researching and/or writing. This Intern will work closely with the Operational Coordinator, as well as the Executive Director, to come up with a Prospective Fundraising Plan 2013/2014 that incorporates grants, donors, small events and any other means necessary to increase the funding of Bayou Land RC&D. Bayou Land RC&D is currently almost 100% grant-funded, and we want to change that. While this intern may research grants or work at times on applications, the main focus of this semester-long position is going to be to identify non-grant sources of income. This will also include using research and creativity to build a sample ?Membership Program,? that will encompass how much revenue this would bring in, determining how we would advertise this program to our contact base, and how the program would operate. All of this research and work throughout the semester will be compiled into the final product, a Prospective Fundraising Plan for 2013/2014. This product will be presented to the Staff who will comment and eventually bring the ideas to the Board of Directors. The intern will receive orientation to the organization and its history, as well as training on basic fundraising and grant-writing. The intern will also have the opportunity to work with volunteers and participate in service projects when time permits, as well as participate in all happenings of the organization.
