Descriptions: POSITION CONCEPT:
Helps ensure overall quality and effectiveness of the JA site-based programs, including JA BizTown and JA Finance Park, for students, teachers, volunteers and funders. Utilizes management skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, troubleshooting and communication skills.
Working dates will be scheduled. Starting and ending times of the working day depend on the simulation schedule and availability of the site-based moderators (typically starting between 7:30am and 8:30am and ending between 2:00pm and 3:00pm).
PRIMARY DUTIES:
? Ensure quality and effectiveness of daily simulations
? Assist with volunteer training sessions
? Help maintain simulation inventory ? order products and printed documents
? Reset the facility for the next simulation
? Help develop and implement tools to provide the needed information to volunteers and students during their simulation
? Help develop and improve simulation business and job functions
? Handle informational requests from teachers and volunteers
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AS NEEDED: Assist with curriculum inventory
? Assist with thank-you letters to volunteers and teachers
? Implement tasks specified by grants received (such as conducting pre and post tests with students in the classroom).
? Assist with classroom based programs - JA in a Day program
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Required:
? High School graduate
? Interest in education, program development, business or customer service
? Strong oral communication, organization/planning, time management, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
? Computer literacy
? Self-motivated but works well in team setting
Desired:
? Comfortable working with different software programs, computers and other technology
? Experience in education, volunteer recruitment or training, customer service or event implementation
? Previous JA volunteer experience or someone with knowledge of the local system is a strong plus
? Experience working with children
