Descriptions: This intern position would be ideally suited to someone looking to directly be
involved in all aspects of development and who is looking to be at the heart of an
innovative, growing, company with opportunities to directly influence the future
direction.
The exact nature of the role will be dependent on experience and background, however,
general responsibilities will include:
? Identification of potential donors, foundations.
? Managing and coordinating business development activities across the business.
? Developing with the management team, a strategy to support the continued growth of our donor database.
? Representation of the company at Events.
Length of Internship: FALL (August to December)
Time Commitment: Min. 10-15 hours a week, for the duration of the agreed upon service.
Qualifications: Good communication skills, both written and verbal, To be self-motivated but able
to work as part of a team, Good organizational and time-management skills, A positive, dynamic
attitude, Good negotiation and time-management skills, To enjoy networking and meeting new
people.
The Alliance for Affordable Energy is a non-profit organization that works toward fair, affordable,
environmentally responsible energy policy for Louisiana and the nation. We also work to promote the sustainable rebuilding of our city, promoting energy efficiency, environmentally responsible building
techniques and residential solar power.

This service activity is availble for .
Other requirement: Strong communication skills are necessary; high organizational skills; people management experience a plus; self-starter; motivated to learn about people management, goal planning and project communication.
Since computers are limited in our offices we ask that interns bring laptops with them if they have them.
Evaluations/surveys will be requested by community partner to be completed by students.
The students will be asked to complete a welcome survey, a mid-internship reflection survey, and an exit survey. We will use the information to adjust their experience to best benefit us and them. They will be distributed by the senior administrator, Liz Shephard.
Students allowed to take pictures or video.
Research will be conducted at the offices of the Alliance for Affordable Energy @ 2347 St. Claude Ave New Orleans, LA. Some field work may also be required.
Check-in at the site: Students will report to site and check-in with the Senior Administrator, Elizabeth Shephard
Students track their hours at site: We have an online login to keep track of volunteer hours. We also have a binder with sign in sheets for each individual.
