Descriptions: Artists-in-Residence (AIRs) provide patients and caregivers the opportunity to become absorbed in creative activities in both individual and group settings.
Product of Partnership: A ?product? is not expected, but AIRs are required to complete a statistics log and short journal a the end of each shift.
Final Product Special Instructions:Artistic experience is NOT necessary but, it is important that AIRs are outgoing, able to work independently and always ready to adapt to ever changing situations. Those with artistic skills (studio art, music, dance, creative writing, etc) can work with Arts in Medicine to find a way to use their talents in a fun way for the benefit of the patient.

Background Checks is Required. A background check will be run and needs to come back "clear" before students will be allowed to work with patients.
Immunization is Required. Proof of Flu Shot required
Students are not allowed to take pictures or video.
Specific Policies: Students must comply to HIPAA, infection control procedures, illness and safety policies. These will be explained during on-site orientation.

Students will work unsupervised:While the Arts in Medicine coordinator, Child Life specialists, nurses, therapists, etc., are always available to answer questions/assist if necessary, the students generally enter the patient rooms on their own.
