Social Media and Website Development Internship

Descriptions: The Social Media and Website Development Intern will help develop and maintain social media sites, as well as research web design options for the Broadmoor Development Corporation (BDC). The intern?s research will help inform the development of the website, which will highlight the organization?s work and provide information on the organization?s current programs?including opportunities for homeownership. The intern will also have the opportunity to assist with special events and other promotional and social media activities, such as the documentation of rebuilding efforts.
Product of Partnership: The intern will help develop social media sites for the BDC, including a facebook and twitter page. The intern will also provide a final report on their research into the design and development of a website for the organization.
Final Product Special Instructions:The Social Media and Website Development Intern will help develop and maintain social media sites, as well as research web design options for the Broadmoor Development Corporation (BDC). The intern will be expected to develop and maintain social media sites, including facebook and twitter. The intern will also be responsible for researching web design and development, and producing a final report to the Broadmoor Development Corporation. If they have the skills, the intern can start the actual development of a website, but this is not a requirement. The ultimate goal of the website is to highlight the organization?s work and provide information on the organization?s current programs?including opportunities for homeownership.

Requirements

The CP requests emergency contact information.It will only be used in the case of an emergency in which the intern is involved.
Evaluations/surveys will be requested by community partner to be completed by students.
The BDC will ask the intern to complete a survey at the end of their term, in order for us to have feedback on what they thought of their service, and how we can improve for the future.
Students allowed to take pictures or video.
Specific Policies: We work with clients that provide a lot of confidential information related to buying or renovating a home, so we ask the intern to keep information confidential.

Availability

Location and Travel

The student can either work at our office, or at home. It will be required that the intern works at the office occasionally.
Transportation options:Public Transportation less than 45 ride from Tulane
15-20 minute bicycle ride from Tulane

Supervision and Risk

Check-in at the site: There will be periodic meetings throughout the semester to track their progress, and assist the intern in their work.
Students track their hours at site: The BDC has an online tracking system to record hours.
