Descriptions: We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to help develop the educational capacity of Hollygrove Market and Farm. The Youth Garden Tour intern will work with a fellow intern of the same tittle to manage all aspects of the Hollygrove Market youth garden tour. We believe that an engaging and informative garden tour program can promote good nutrition, provide opportunities for interdisciplinary lessons, and improve environmental attitudes.

Final Product Special Instructions:PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead fun and informative tours for K-8 students. Schedule garden tours. Solicit Youth Groups and Summer camps to participate in the garden tour. Document volunteer hours. Create promotional material for garden tour. Prepare the site to receive large groups of students (assembling materials, cleaning and organizing on-site, conducting inventory of materials).
Secondary responsibilities include co-managing volunteers and creating educational and informational material for Hollygrove Market and Farm.

The CP requests emergency contact information.If there is an accident on site involving the student, the site supervisor will need to be able to reach an emergency contact.
Evaluations/surveys will be requested by community partner to be completed by students.
Upon completion of their internship, the student will be asked to complete an evaluation form. The feedback captured in this evaluation will be used to improve future intern experiences, as well as alter aspects of the Garden Tour as needed.
Students allowed to take pictures or video.
Specific Policies: The supervisors of participating youth groups are asked to complete a pre-tour information packet. This packet includes an image waiver release and must be signed in order to take images of students. Students are allowed to participate in the Garden Tour even if they do not sign the image waiver release form.
Farm casual-closed toed shoes, appropriate clothing to be around children
The student will work directly with the Hollygrove Market and Farm as lead docent for the Garden Tour. They will be asked to work on-site at least 2 days/week.
Check-in at the site: The intern will either check-in with the AmeriCorps VISTA, or with a Hollygrove Market and Farm staff member. Most of the intern's correspondence with their supervisor will happen via e-mail.
Students track their hours at site: The student will submit their hours on a Google Doc, which will be shared with the Hollygrove Market and Farm AmeriCorps VISTA. The student will submit their hours at the close of each week.
