Descriptions: The Southern Food & Beverage Museum Kids Culinary Camp is a free half-day cooking camp for kids in 2nd through 5th grade. The camp aims to teach nutritional literacy and the importance of home cooking. Each day the campers learn a new recipe and prepare (and eat!) their own lunch, participate in fun physical activity, learn a bit about nutrition, and do a craft project where they write the recipe in their cookbook. The Kids Culinary Camp aims to emphasize learning cooking through hands on experience. The camp will be divided into 2 groups for the cooking activities so that each camper will have the chance to participate at each step under proper supervision. The kitchen leader will facilitate the cooking portion of the camp by leading the selected recipe step by step with their group of campers.
