Public Health Intern

Descriptions: The primary role of the public heath intern is to assist in the day-to-day implementation and operation of the research study conducted by partnering agencies. Interns will be given the opportunity to work with collaborating agencies such as Louisiana Public Health Institute (LPHI) and The Policy and Research Group (PRG) where they will help implement and evaluate the health education program. Responsibilities include: 1. Office management duties such as filing, copying, scanning and faxing documents. 2. Research, develop, implement or maintain a digital media tool for 4REAL Health youth participants. 3. Assist with data collection, data entry and data cleaning. 4. Attend and assist in planning and preparation of meetings, conferences and conference telephone calls. 5. Proctor baseline and post-program questionnaires. 6. Provide support to other research projects. Public health interns leave the 4Real Health Program with valuable experience in program research and development, implementation and evaluation; a solid background in HIV/AIDS and teen pregnancy prevention; and an appreciation for field of public health. This position is a 4 month internship with the availability to extend. Hours are during normal business hours Monday ? Friday from 8:00am ? 5:00pm.
Product of Partnership: 1. 8-10hrs/wk spent working on 4REAL Health Social Media (Facebook/Twitter). 2. Complete the curriculum training. 3. Proctor 25% sessions requiring survey. 4. Create a database. 5. Complete one page summary of internship experience.
