Descriptions: Community Works of Louisiana is seeking an Administrative Intern for Spring, 2012. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative tasks and will be capable of working both independently and as a member of the team. The ability to effectively interact with staff, teaching-artists, and the organization?s board of directors, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient is necessary for success in this position. A good sense of humor, and an interest in non-profits and arts education is required.
Responsibilities:
? Helping to manage and organize multiple after-school programs
? Coordinating marketing efforts for the organization
? Maintaining and updating the organization?s social media outlets
? Data entry and maintenance of programmatic web-based databases
? Recruiting prospective teaching-artists and facilitating interviews
? Participating in grant and proposal writing
? Developing new fundraising and development strategies
? Assisting with payroll and maintenance of QuickBooks accounting system
? Brainstorming on new initiatives that will push the organization forward
? General administrative tasks
Qualifications:
? Working toward a BA or MA in arts education, education, business, marketing or related field
? Proven experience in program management
? Flexibility and adaptability
? Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
? Ability to multitask
? Organization skills
? Computer savvy
? Reliable transportation
