We are also looking for interns to help organize and market specific programs, which opens the experience to include first hand arts curatorial and event planning.
Zeitgeist's programming is extremely diverse. We do more programming than any other arts organization in the city without any paid staff or public funds. So it provides students with an endless opportunity to work with artists in all disciplines, genres and nationalities on a completely grassroots level.
Zeitgeist Multi-disciplinary Arts Center - OCH Gallery is an entirely volunteer, artist run media arts center that has been in New Orleans 24 years this November. We do full-time programming of film, video, performance art, visual art, creative music, dance, spoken word, comedy and theater. We produce several annual festivals and series including the NEW ORLEANS MIDDLE EAST FILM FESTIVAL, PATOIS: NEW ORLEANS INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS FILM FESTIVAL, ZEITGEIST CREATIVE MUSIC CONCERT SERIES, CANADA IS BIGGER THAN THE U.S., NEW ORLEANS QUEER ARTS FESTIVAL, LAS AMERICAS: RECENT FILMS FROM LATIN AMERICA, etc. We are also inaugurating a monthly indoor/outdoor artist market and expanding our monthly gallery exhibitions. Our mission statement is simply "Something for and against everyone!"
Zeitgeist is known throughout the world as one of the premiere venues for alternative media, art and performance in the U.S. Founder Rene Broussard is an incredible resource for emerging artists and students looking to work in a DIY setting.
