Mission statements

The Bayou Land Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Council is a regional, 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Bayou Land RC&D's mission is to improve the quality of life in rural and urban communities, to promote the wise use of our natural resources and improve the economic, environmental and social conditions in the Bayou Land area. Our eight (8) parish region includes Jefferson, Lafourche, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. John, and Terrebonne parishes in southeastern Louisiana.

It is locally defined and directed by a all volunteer council that focuses on natural resource protection and wise use of resources, accelerated economic development,and improvement of social conditions.
