A service learning experience at the Southern Food and Beverage Museum will not only aid us in the task, but also enrich your experience in New Orleans as you learn the history of food and drink in the South.

Mission statements

The Southern Food and Beverage Museum Foundation was formed to educate the public about the culture of the South through the study and celebration of its food and beverages. SoFAB designs exhibits, maintains archives, maintains collections of artifacts (which includes its library) in order to preserve and educate the general public, in particular, children through schools, and those interested in Southern economics, public policy, history, nutrition, art and culture through the lens of food and drink.
