Mission statements

The Historic New Orleans Collection, a museum and research center operated by the Kemper and Leila Williams Foundation, presents and interprets the history and culture of New Orleans and the Louisiana region for the benefit of the public. The Collection gives life to this history and places it in its appropriate regional, national, and international context. This is accomplished through the collection and preservation of original and supporting material, interpretive museum exhibitions, publications and other educational programs. Located in the French Quarter, the Williams Residence and other historic buildings housing the Collection are available for visitation and study.
