The Center for Public Service operates a transportation service system to aide those students, staff and faculty involved in Service Learning projects
This service is only available to Service Learning participants traveling to and from CPS Service Learning sites.
- You must have a Tulane e-mail address and password to request a ride.
- Riders must request your transportation at least THREE (3) BUSINESS days in advance to ensure that the request is accepted before your transportation day.
- Riders are required to provide a cell phone number to schedule transportation on CPS shuttles.
- Each rider must be listed on the drivers' schedule. The drivers have the right to refuse you transportation if you are not on their daily report.
- Requested pick-up and drop-off times must be at least 90 minutes apart from each other.
CPS shuttles will NOT operate during the following days/times:
- Sundays
- Before 7:30am and after 8:30 pm Monday - Saturday
CPS shuttles will NOT provide transportation to:
- ARC of Greater New Orleans (5700 Loyola)
- Lusher Elementary School (Willow St. Campus)
- Lusher High School (Freret St. Campus)
All CPS shuttles to service sites leave from the shuttle stop on 7001 Freret Street (Freret at Howard Tilton Memorial Library). Your pick-up time will usually be about 15 minutes before your service time starts, although this is subject to change depending on your destination and the time of day.
You will receive a confirmation e-mail when your request is accepted. The confirmation will include a pick-up time for transportation leaving campus. You are responsible for being at the current shuttle stop on 7001 Freret Street by your assigned pick-up time - your tardiness will more than likely cause you to miss your requested ride.
Requesting Transportation
There are two kinds of available transportation requests, weekly and one-time.
- weekly request - a recurring request where a student may get transportation to their service site at a specified time and day each week throughout the semester. For example, to travel to a service site every Wednesday and Friday at 2pm and return at 4pm.
- one-time request - a single request where a student may request transportation for a given date. For example, to travel to and from a service site on the 24th of September, at 2pm and return at 4pm.
