Only students properly registered for the service learning component of their class (-89 section) are eligible to make the on-line an requests through the CPSIS website.
On-line requests must be submitted at least three days in advance. An e-mail confirmation will specify the pickup time and location.
"The Five-Minute Rule" - Students should arrive at least 5 minutes before their pick up time at the designated location. Due to the transportation schedule, the vans will not wait longer than 5 minutes for any riders.
Students should always carry the following numbers with them whenever they are on site:
CPS Transportation Coordinator, Iri Bolden, 504-214-8025
CPS Van Driver, Cedric Brandon, 504-256-4466
The numbers should not be used to request van rides as that should be done through the CPSIS transportation request system – it should only be used for emergencies or unexpected schedule changes.
If a student schedules round-trip transportation, but elects to use an alternative transportation method to go TO a site, that student's ride FROM the site will be canceled – unless the student notifies Iri Bolden (phone number above) PRIOR to the scheduled ride to the site.
NOTE: Excessive use of the CPS Transporation numbers because you are constantly "late" to the pick-up site might affect your continued use of the transportation service.
