By including an undergraduate research focus, designated as Research Engagement (CELT-RE), in the Center for Engaged Learning and Teaching Tulane capitalizes on its strength as a research institution, fulfills the definition of engaged learning, and affords students the opportunity to partake in out-of-classroom research experiences with faculty. Recognizing that research practices and definitions differ by discipline, the research engagement core seeks to provide opportunities to all undergraduate students to engage in research, scholarship, or unique creative expressions appropriate to their field of interest.
