ANNOUNCEMENT

As we prepare for the start of the 2014-2015 academic year we would like to update you on several changes to our leadership team. After three years of distinguished duty as the founding Executive Director of Tulane's Center for Engaged Learning and Teaching, Michael Cunningham, Professor of Psychology and of African and African Diaspora Studies, has been appointed to the role of Associate Provost for Graduate Studies and Research.

We are pleased to announce Susann Lusnia, Associate Professor of Classical Studies, as the new Executive Director of the Center for Engaged Learning and Teaching (CELT). Susann originally joined CELT in 2011 as the Assistant Director for Classroom Engagement. Toni Weiss, Senior Professor of Practice, succeeds Susann as Assistant Director for Classroom Engagement. Toni joined CELT in 2012 as the Program Manager for Classroom Engagement.

Rebecca Otten, who joined CELT in 2011 as the Program Coordinator for Social Innovation Engagement, is now Assistant Director for Social Innovation. She succeeds Stephanie Barksdale who will be taking on new duties as the Special Assistant to President Cowen for Social Innovation Initiatives.

In addition, we welcome two new members to our leadership team. Jennifer McNulty joins Social Innovation Engagement as Senior Program Coordinator. She will be working closely with Rebecca to develop, facilitate, and promote a variety of social innovation and social entrepreneurship programming across the University. Noah Netzhammer, who graduated from Tulane in May 2014, joins CELT as a Student Affairs Associate. He will be working closely with all four cores to develop collaborative relationships across campus to promote our programming initiatives for students.

We are excited to start a new school year with you as we continue to provide opportunities to participate in engaged learning experiences that complement your academic and career goals.
