featuring Professor Luisa Dantas

Date: Thursday, September 12, 2013
Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Hillel Center

Archbishop Desmond Tutu famously remarked, “We live in a world of Katrinas.” From front porches to the frontlines, “Land of Opportunity” captures the struggle to rebuild New Orleans, one of America’s most beloved and emblematic cities. Juxtaposing the perspectives of protagonists from different walks of life, this multiplatform documentary project reveals how the story of post-Katrina New Orleans is also the story of urban America. This is a ground-level view of a situation that has been widely discussed but rarely seen with such texture and complexity.
