The Wikipedia Foundation has found that only 9% of Wikipedia contributors are women. This affects not only the community of editors, but also the types of content that are available. Women-centric topics often receive fewer contributions, or are missing entirely. Tulane faculty and staff are invited to join us for a discussion on what can be done to encourage more women to participate. Wikipedia Ambassador, Becky Carmichael, will share how contributing to Wikipedia can be incorporated into academic classes and provide a tutorial on how to getting started with editing Wikipedia.

Sponsored by: Newcomb College Institute
