The Tulane faculty in the School of Science and Engineering is offering an outreach program on Saturday, February 23rd called GIST (Girls In STEM at Tulane) for 5th to 7th grade girls. GIST is a great opportunity for girls to meet and work with women role models in STEM fields, and participate in workshops designed to encourage creative thinking, promote self-esteem, and increase awareness of the opportunities that await them.
The event is from 8:30am – 3pm and will include fun science activities led by Tulane faculty, graduate and undergraduate students in the STEM fields of math, cell biology, psychology, neuroscience, ecology, environmental science, computer science, and engineering. Information about the titles and topics of the workshops is on our website (http://gist.tulane.edu).
