Last Mile: NOLA Memorial Run for the Boston Marathon Bombing

Date: Saturday, April 27, 2013
Time: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Meet at 9am in Audubon Park at fountain at St. Charles Ave. entrance
Location: uptown campus

The events of the Boston Marathon bombing showed how important it is to build community, and show strength in the face of terror. Just as the world offered help to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, it our turn to show solidarity with the city of Boston, the runners of the Boston Marathon, and the heroes and victims of the bombing. We will gather in Audubon Park on Saturday, April 27th (meet at the fountain at the St. Charles entrance) for an informal three mile run, each mile in honor of one of the three people killed in the Boston Marathon bombing. It will be a time to honor the heroes and victims of the bombing, and to share stories about our love for Boston and for running. Donations to Boston's one fund are also welcome, but not required. No registration, of course, just show up in blue, yellow or your best Boston garb.

Sponsored by: History Department as well as Salvation Studio, New Orleans Track Club, Louisiana Running Company

Admission: Free
Attendance: Open to the public
Open to: Alumni, Faculty, Graduate students, Parents, Prospective undergrads, Staff, Undergraduates, Visitors
