About the New Orleans Infant Burial Foundation
NOIBF is a program created to offer affordable decedent options for families after the death of an infant and serves the greater New Orleans area. Research indicates that a ritual following the death of a child is a very important aspect in the bereavement and healing process. The foundation hopes to help decrease the levels of depression, guilt, and shame that families often experience due to financial constraints associated with decisions surrounding how to bury their baby. The foundation was created as part of the professional project of four Tulane social work students' professional project.
