In this 2006 documentary, New Orleans filmmaker Rebecca Snedeker explores a family tradition to discover the secrets and inner workings of the old-line Carnival societies and debutante balls of Mardi Gras. Questioning their racial exclusivity, she takes an insider's look at the pageantry of the balls and asks the question: what does it really mean to be the queen of the masked men? (57 minutes)

Snedeker will also be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A.
