Week for Peace Convocation 2013: Panel Discussion "The Continuing Need for Affirmative Action in a Diverse America" Under current law, affirmative action is not a favor the majority does for minorities, it is not redress for past inequality, it is a mechanism for ensuring that our educational institutions and workplace reflect the diversity in our national fabric.  This panel looks at whether this is a sufficient justification and what the durable effects of affirmative action are on our society and our politics.
