Rob was the winner of the 2008 Schumacher Award, is an Ashoka Fellow and a Fellow of the Post Carbon Institute, and was named by the Independent as one of the United Kingdom’s top 100 environmentalists.
Hopkins’ new book, The Power of Just Doing Stuff: How Local Action Can Change the World, was published in June of 2013. His visit to Tulane will be the first event in Hopkins’ “first and last US tour,” which includes appearing as a distinguished speaker at SXSW ECO.  Hopkins, who doesn't usually fly, was asked to come to the US to speak with foundations about the power of local action to address the ecological and economic crises of climate change.
