The National Science Foundation (NSF) awarded our Program Directorship an Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) grant in May 2012 to establish the Bioinnovation PhD Program. Our first cohort of graduate students (i.e., "fellows") was officially inducted into the program in August 2012.
All students enrolled in the Bioinnovation PhD Program are recipients of a fellowship that provides full tuition and guarantees a 2-year annual stipend of $30,000 with continued funding from Tulane University.
Bioinovation fellow are automatically granted the fellowship upon enrollment in the program. There is no separate fellowship application process.
Only citizens and permanent residents are eligible to be enrolled in our graduate program at this time.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in the sciences or engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.4 and combined GRE score above 300 (or 1100 using the old scoring method). Please visit the Apply section of this website for more detailed information and to submit your online application.
Check out the 2012-2013 Student & Faculty Handbook for a more complete description of the Bioinnovation PhD Program.
