Community Service

Albert Einstein once said, "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile."

Community service is a vital component of the role that Tulane athletics plays in the rebuilding of New Orleans. Following Hurricane Katrina, Tulane student-athletes were asked to wear commemorative patches on their uniforms reminding them of Tulane President Scott Cowen's charge to "carry the torch, be the face and represent the name" of the university. That initial goal has evolved into our student-athletes' desire to help rebuild the great city of New Orleans.

The type of young person who is willing to be part of the rebuilding efforts will thrive at Tulane. From projects such as building a home in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity to programs such as Shadow a Student-Athlete Day, Tulane athletes are at the forefront of improving the community.
