Select Agent Training

Select Agent registered entities are required by federal regulations to provide information and training on biosafety and security to each individual with access approval to Select Agents and Toxins.  The training must be provided to individuals before he/she is granted access to Select Agents or Toxins.  Individuals will also be required to attend annual refresher training courses.

 

Select Agent Training is required for the following individuals:

  • Individuals with Select Agent access approval from the HHS Secretary or Administrator
  • Individuals not approved for Select Agent access, but work in or visit areas where Select Agents or Toxins are handled or stored
  • Visiting researchers working in a Select Agent area
