Institutional Assessment promotes effective institutional assessment, accreditation, and improvement efforts, provides assessment-related resources and assistance to academic and administrative units, and engages in valid assessment activities.
By advancing assessment and improvement initiatives, Institutional Assessment supports the Office of Academic Affairs in securing the University's enduring excellence in scholarship, art-making, instruction and mentorship, professional service and leadership, and community engagement and assists Tulane University in enriching the capacity of individuals, organizations and communities to think, to learn and to act and lead with integrity and wisdom.

Effective July 1, 2013, the Offices of Institutional Assessment and Institutional Research will merge and form the Office of Assessment and Institutional Research (OAIR). This merger will foster efficiency and effectiveness through the delivery of timely and high-quality information that is accessible and useful to Tulane decision makers. OAIR will also facilitate assessment activities of academic and administrative departments to advance student learning and program effectiveness; lead Tulane's accreditation efforts; and respond to requests from external constituents.
