Who We Are
The Tulane Club of New York is a local chapter of the Tulane Alumni Association (TAA). We help carry out the mission of the TAA: to advance Tulane's pursuit of its highest potential. The Tulane Club of NY provides a forum for meaningful involvement and interaction among alumni, students, and university leaders.
What We Do
We sponsor social, cultural, professional and community service events and programs to foster school spirit and connect amongst Tulananians in the New York City area. To support The University's recruitment efforts, we also serve as ambassadors for the school at fairs and for interviewing prospective students when needed.
How You Can Get Active
The Tulane Club of NY is open to alumni, students, parents of students and friends of the university. Most of our events are free. For major events (Mardi Gras party, Crawfish Festival, Football Tailgates) that require paid admission, we attempt to negotiate group discounts with preferred pricing for Tulane Club members. Visit our email listserv page to sign up to start receiving our club updates and newsletters. The club is completely volunteer driven, so if you would like more information on how to volunteer, please contact the co-presidents.
This page is an online bulletin board for local alumni to share information and ideas with each other. For example, if you are looking for a roommate, a new job, or new employee, or if you want to announce that a New Orleans band is coming to town, here's where to make your announcement.
Check out HireTulane's Alumni Page!
Since this is a free service, commercial announcements will not be accepted. Please limit posting to 100 words.

Presiding over his Funky Nation is Big Sam, formerly the trombonist for the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, who blows the funk out of his trombone and refuses to let the audience sit still. Between solos and trombone riffs, Big Sam second-lines (a uniquely New Orleans style of street-dance) and gets the crowd going both in movement and in replies to his call-and-response MC-style. A talented group of jazz-trained musicians makes up the Funky Nation, bringing with them the improve-style associated with jazz and the horn-heavy front section that's the hallmark of big band funk. Theirs, and Big Sam's, exuberant dancing and playing, afford them a rare opportunity to let loose. Big Sam's Funky Nation has undeniable personality, as well as masterful chops.
