Local Tulane Clubs operate in numerous cities around the United States and the world, offering social, educational, and cultural activities for area alumni. The clubs are constituent members of the Tulane Alumni Association.
Activities of the club are planned and organized by local alumni with the assistance of the Tulane Office of Alumni Affairs. Therefore, your ideas and your help are always welcome. The continued success of the club is dependent upon your involvement, so please contact the club president to get involved.
This page is an online bulletin board for local alumni to share information and ideas with each other. For example, if you are looking for a roommate, a new job, or new employee, or if you want to announce that a New Orleans band is coming to town, here's where to make your announcement.
Check out HireTulane's Alumni Page!
Since this is a free service, commercial announcements will not be accepted. Please limit posting to 100 words.

The Albert H. “Sonny” Small, Jr. (A&S’79) Regional Challenge Grant for Tulane Alumni Residing in the DC, Virginia, Maryland Area
Tulane alumnus Albert H. “Sonny” Small, Jr. has announced a unique opportunity for alumni in the D.C., Virginia and Maryland area making a gift to the Tulane University Rebuilding Fund. Mr. Small will match all donations, dollar for dollar*, made to the Tulane University Rebuilding Fund from alumni donors in D.C., Virginia and Maryland and those who have not yet made a gift to the Tulane Rebuilding Fund - up to $500,000 total.
This Challenge allows these alumni to give to Tulane University knowing that the amount they give will be doubled, making the impact of their individual gifts even greater. The collective impact of new gifts from alumni and matching funds from this challenge grant will provide essential support for Tulane during its rebuilding process.
Donors from these areas need only make their gift to the Rebuilding Fund. Qualifying gifts will automatically be applied to the Albert H. “Sonny” Small, Jr. Challenge Grant.
*up to $10,000 per household
This unique award was established six years ago by Timothy Sykes (Tulane College ’03) to recognize and nurture talented individuals whose abilities and accomplishments may not be in traditional areas of endeavor. There are many ways to be “successful” in today's society and this award acknowledges young people with unique interests and passions. This does not preclude from consideration those with significant demonstrated success in the classroom or on the playing field - it simply seeks to broaden the definition of accomplishment in a university environment.
A candidate may self-nominate or be nominated by another member of the Tulane community by means of a statement (minimum 2 pages) that describes the individual’s talent/potential and supports that description with a listing of his/her related accomplishments or an example of the applicant’s work. Nominations are open to any member of the Tulane community – student, faculty, staff or young alumni. Applications for the award will be reviewed by a committee appointed by President Cowen.
Completed nominations are due by April 17, 2009 and may be submitted by email to timsykesaward@tulane.edu or by mailing them to Tulane University Office of Development, 6823 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70118. Please call 504.314.7633 with any questions.

I am writing today to ask for your help in promoting the Hullabaloo Homecoming Event, which is a fundraiser during Homecoming weekend to benefit Tulane student-athletes. The event is on Friday, October 9, from 6:30-9:30 pm, and for the first time will be held in the Lavin-Bernick Center, right in the center of all of the Homecoming festivities.
We’ve already started building a great list of items to be auctioned that will appeal to alumni across the globe; however, we need help in gathering more items for the auction. That's where you come in. In addition to the on-campus event, we are hosting an on-line auction so that anyone who cannot make it to New Orleans for the weekend can still participate. We are looking for auction items that can be used outside of New Orleans and will appeal to those out-of-town alums attending the event or following the auction. For example, a gift certificate to a restaurant in Chicago, theatre or concert tickets, or packages to Bulls, Bears, Cubs or White Sox games would all be wonderful auction items.
Also, be sure to check out http://tulane.edu/homecoming/hullabaloo to see the auction catalog and ticket information! And as always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
Thank you for your help and for all that you do for Tulane.
Allison
Please contact Bryan Engler at Bryan.Engler@thomsonreuters.com if you are interested in playing co-ed club sports with your fellow Tulane alums. We have enough interest for a flag football team, but do need more females in particular to join. There is also a very robust co-ed club soccer league for those interested in helping form a Tulane soccer team.
If you are interested in training with and participating as a member of the Tulane Marathon Team in the Chicago Marathon, please contact Cliff Gerber at cliff.gerber@gmail.com.
The Tulane Career Services Center is actively seeking Chicago alumni to act as career mentors to current Tulane students as they transition into the Chicago workforce. To become involved or to receive further information, please contact Ashley Perkins (aperkin@tulane.edu).
The Tulane Alumni Club of Chicago is always looking to partner with prominent Chicago organizations, institutions, venues, restuarants/bars; particularly if there is a stong Tulane or New Orleans connection. Many of our most compelling events (ie Sears Tower, Art Institute, Goose Island, and Ravinia) were made possible by some Tulane connection granting us some sort of access and/or discount we would not normally have.
Please email Evan Herman at evan.f.herman@gmail.com if you or someone you know could be in a position to partner with the alumni club - Particularly helpful would be connections with Chicago professional sports teams, art and cultural insitutions, concert venues, and top bars/restaurants in the city.
David Gordon is now the Chair of the Chicago Tulane Alumni Entrepeneur, Finance, and Accounting Professionals Club - He will be organizing monthly breakfast events for Chicago area Tulane alumni Finance professionals and those in related fields. His email is dgordonseth@gmail.com anyone interested in partcipating and/or helping organize such a club within the alumni club should contact him.
