The Tulane Club of Atlanta is an active group of local alumni who organize social, educational, and cultural activities for Tulane alumni in metro Atlanta. The club is a constituent member of the Tulane Alumni Association (TAA). Founded in 1898, TAA provides a forum for meaningful involvement and interaction among the university's 105,000 alumni, its students, and university leaders.
With more than 3,000 local Tulane alumni, Atlanta has one of the largest concentrations of alumni in the country. We have one of the largest email list of all 60 Tulane clubs, and we are among the most active. In May 2001, the Tulane Alumni Association presented the Young Alumni Volunteer award to the Club's President in recognition of the successful programming and support of local events by Atlanta alumni.
In recent years our events have included annual crawfish boils in Chastain Park, a Mardi Gras Brunch generously sponsored and hosted by Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, a Town Hall Breakfast with Tulane President Scott Cowen at the Buckhead Club in the Atlanta Financial Center, Fat Tuesday evening receptions with complimentary New Orleans cuisine from Copeland's restaurant at Tower Place, Braves group seating and pre-game tailgate parties, Big Screen football and College World Series viewing parties, team trivia, numerous Community Outreach projects and happy hours at various spots in metro Atlanta.
The Tulane Club of Atlanta also participates in TeamIvy, a multi-school social and networking club with several events every month. For more information on this group of alumni from prestigious universities, please check out www.TeamIvy.com.
Activities of the club are planned and organized by local volunteer alumni with the assistance of the Tulane Office of Alumni Affairs. Therefore, your ideas and your help are always welcome. Please contact the club's leaders on the "Club Leadership" page if you would like to get involved.
This page is an online bulletin board for local alumni to share information and ideas with each other. For example, if you are looking for a roommate, a new job, or new employee, or if you want to announce that a New Orleans band is coming to town, here's where to make your announcement.

Just a reminder to the entire Atlanta Tulane alumni community that the four local Copeland's restaurant franchises in Buckhead, Galleria, Alpharetta and Kennesaw are owned by three Atlanta Tulane alumni. So when you're missing that festive flavor or looking for a place to gather with friends please visit us at Copeland's of New Orleans. Thanks!

The Albert H. “Sonny” Small, Jr. (A&S’79) Regional Challenge Grant for Tulane Alumni Residing in the DC, Virginia, Maryland Area
Tulane alumnus Albert H. “Sonny” Small, Jr. has announced a unique opportunity for alumni in the D.C., Virginia and Maryland area making a gift to the Tulane University Rebuilding Fund. Mr. Small will match all donations, dollar for dollar*, made to the Tulane University Rebuilding Fund from alumni donors in D.C., Virginia and Maryland and those who have not yet made a gift to the Tulane Rebuilding Fund - up to $500,000 total.
This Challenge allows these alumni to give to Tulane University knowing that the amount they give will be doubled, making the impact of their individual gifts even greater. The collective impact of new gifts from alumni and matching funds from this challenge grant will provide essential support for Tulane during its rebuilding process.
Donors from these areas need only make their gift to the Rebuilding Fund. Qualifying gifts will automatically be applied to the Albert H. “Sonny” Small, Jr. Challenge Grant.
*up to $10,000 per household
This unique award was established six years ago by Timothy Sykes (Tulane College ’03) to recognize and nurture talented individuals whose abilities and accomplishments may not be in traditional areas of endeavor. There are many ways to be “successful” in today's society and this award acknowledges young people with unique interests and passions. This does not preclude from consideration those with significant demonstrated success in the classroom or on the playing field - it simply seeks to broaden the definition of accomplishment in a university environment.
A candidate may self-nominate or be nominated by another member of the Tulane community by means of a statement (minimum 2 pages) that describes the individual’s talent/potential and supports that description with a listing of his/her related accomplishments or an example of the applicant’s work. Nominations are open to any member of the Tulane community – student, faculty, staff or young alumni. Applications for the award will be reviewed by a committee appointed by President Cowen.
Completed nominations are due by April 17, 2009 and may be submitted by email to timsykesaward@tulane.edu or by mailing them to Tulane University Office of Development, 6823 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70118. Please call 504.314.7633 with any questions.
