The transition to college can be a challenging time for many students. In addition to adjusting to a new environment and increased academic demands, many students are managing their own priorities and daily activities for the first time. Also, self-esteem and confidence can be tested as students navigate a new path and future options. Simply put, academic performance is not just based on academic preparedness.
The Tulane Success Coaching Program is designed to help students manage this transition and to develop the skills and resources to take ownership of their academic, personal and career success. In addition to creating short term (daily, weekly) and long term (monthly, semester) goals, coaches work with students to identify patterns and behaviors that can hinder success.
Professional coaches create an environment of support, encouragement, focus, and accountability to help students improve academic performance and take ownership of personal and career goals. Students fully engaged in the coaching process will learn how to:Practice effective study strategies
