SUMMER SUN — A sunflower grows near the Gumbel Memorial Fountain in Audubon Park just across St. Charles Avenue from the Gibson Hall. Because they thrive in the heat and humidity of New Orleans’ summers, sunflowers are among the easiest flowers to grow in the area.

To honor the Newcomb College legacy and commemorate the museum's 20th anniversary, Newcomb Art Museum will present an exhibition of recent acquisitions by Newcomb College alumnae: Louise Grosz ’30, Alice Peak Reiss '30, Ida Kohlmeyer (’33,'56), Carolyn Frohsin Heller ('59), Stephanie Hirsch ('92). The exhibit is free and open to the public.
