With the initial pile-driving work well under way for Yulman Stadium, the new Tulane stadium on the uptown campus, interested viewers can check the progress on two live web cams
After Tulane and the City of New Orleans signed an agreement outlining the use and operation of the stadium
on Jan.25, the university got its first permits and started demolition work on the stadium site between the Reily Student Recreation Center and the Wilson Center. The bleachers, turf and track at the former practice field were removed.
Since then, Woodward Design+Build has been relocating underground utilities and preparing the site for construction. They constructed a ring road on what will be the field area to facilitate the pile driving phase, which began in March.
A recent stadium newsletter said, “We are very sensitive to concerns about noise and vibration, and our contractors will monitor the activities to minimize the impact as much as possible.”
