A partnership between the Tulane bookstore, the Office of Student Affairs, Shuttles and Transportation and Coca-Cola makes it easier than ever to get tickets — and a ride — to the 2013 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival from right here on campus.
Tickets are available for the festival’s first weekend (April 26-28) at just $45 each per day. They can be purchased at the uptown and medical school campus bookstores with the purchase of three 20-ounce Coca-Cola sparkling beverages or one 20-ounce Dasani and a Dasani Drops.
In addition to the $20 discount on festival tickets (the cost is $65 per day at the gate), there will be free shuttle service from the uptown campus to the festival and back.
Why worry about crowded public transportation or pricey parking when you can ride safely to and from the festival at no cost? Your Splash Card will be required to board.
Kelly Venable Carroll in university services says the promotion is back by popular demand. Last year there were only 100 tickets available, but this year she says 500 tickets are available to members of the Tulane community.
Faculty and staff members also are eligible for the deal.
“This year we’re supplying tickets for the first weekend of the festival because during the second weekend (May 2-5) our students are taking finals,” says Carroll. “We’re pleased to be able to provide even more discounted tickets than last year for the Tulane community to enjoy.”
Carroll says 400 tickets are available at the uptown Barnes and Noble bookstore and 100 tickets are available at the downtown Barnes and Noble location.
The 2013 Jazz Fest shuttle schedule is posted on the Transportation website.
