The Guidance Center, Inc. is searching for a Clinical Director. The Clinical Director is responsible for the Clinical Services delivered in all programs offered at the agency.  This position will be overseeing work product of a 50+ clinical staff group which includes three Psychiatrists, a Psychologist, 12 licensed clinicians and 35+ master level therapists and bachelor level skill builders.  Direct reports include three Clinical Mangers who oversee clinical services being delivered at our three sites. 

The Guidance Center, Inc., is a for profit outpatient behavioral health agency, provides behavioral health services throughout the metro area. Services include but are not limited to mental health counseling, substance abuse treatment, assessment and referral services, crisis intervention, medication management, community programming, parenting, and continuous education for mental health professionals. 

This position reports directly to the COO. The Clinical Director is also a member of a Senior Management group known as the Management Council.

Major Task List includes:

  • Provide oversight for all clinical functions of the agency, prioritizing needs and ensuring quality of services rendered.
  • Participate in interview and hiring process for all clinical staff.
  • Exercise and/or appoint supervision for all clinical direct service staff, ensuring documentation requirements are met.
  • Monitor clinical staff job performance and oversee evaluation of clinical staff on a scheduled basis as outlined in the Policy and Procedure manual.

  • Read publications, regulations and directives from Medicaid, the Office of Mental Health, CARF and others, as mandated by Board of Directors, and interpret, counsel and train on the above referenced material.
  • Compile special and/or preliminary reports, summaries or replies to inquiries and/or correspondence related to delivery of clinical services
  • Communicate and provide adequate reports to the Management Team, including input into the annual Information Management Report.
  • Promote and maintain an environment that is conducive to compliance with federal, state and local regulations, as well as accrediting agency standards.
  • Promote continuing education and training of agency staff in personal and professional growth and development;
  • Assist in the development and implementation of budgetary needs, salary adjustments and cost controls

Behavioral Health Group -- New Orleans Narcotic Treatment Clinic is searching for a substance abuse counselor for its Gretna office. Counselors will provide patient-centered, solution-focused therapy and supportive services for patients in an outpatient medication maintenance treatment program. The Roots of Music (ROM) seeks a strong, innovative leader to become Executive Director and to build upon our success providing free musical education and academic mentorship to middle school aged children throughout the New Orleans area. This position will oversee all aspects of ROM operations including staff management, program supervision, financial records and reports maintenance, fundraising, oversight of existing and new donor relations, and strengthening strategic alliances within the community.

ROM has grown rapidly since its inception in 2007.  Established to serve middle school age children who often don’t have musical instruction in school, ROM offers after school music classes (Monday-Thursday) and Saturday sessions along with academic tutoring by local college students.  ROM currently has 130+ children in the program with a staff of four musical instructors and two administrative staff members.

CeaseFire New Orleans, part of the Mayor’s NOLA for Life murder reduction strategy and operated by the Urban League of Greater New Orleans, is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Hospital Response Supervisor. The CeaseFire Hospital Response Initiative will work in partnership with the Interim LSU Public Hospital Trauma Center to respond to shootings at the hospital, providing supports for the victims and their families.  The purpose of this intervention is to stop shootings and killings by intervening at a critical moment to change behaviors and norms around violence.

The Hospital Response Supervisor will facilitate violence prevention planning, development and implementation.  The Supervisor should have experience with public health approaches to violence intervention and community-based programming. He or she should be familiar with public health models and program designs. A qualified Hospital Response Supervisor has experience working with high risk individuals, strategizing to reduce client risk levels over time and conflict mediation skills.  The Supervisor should have experience working in New Orleans communities and have credibility with key stakeholders and high risk individuals. Jewish Family Service (JFS) a non-profit social service agency dedicated to preserving, strengthening, and enhancing the wellbeing and self-sufficiency of individuals and families at every stage of the life cycle, seeks a bilingual (Spanish) Case Manager to provide post release, follow up services to Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC).

The position of Case Manager is responsible for providing culturally and linguistically appropriate follow-up services and comprehensive case management for UAC.  The Case Manager will be responsible for conducting calls, interviews, and home visits with UAC; developing individual case plans with particular attention to culture, language, and special circumstances; and maintaining case files.  The Case Manager will provide information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy, and support to ensure that each child receives the services they require. The case manager will assess the safety and appropriateness of the placement on an ongoing basis using child welfare principles and social work best practices. The Case Manager will also build a network of local pro bono legal resources/services and care providers to establish services for UAC, facilitate access/remove barriers to those services, and track individual progress via an online database.  Additionally, the Case Manager will be responsible for submitting written reports as required, coordinating/maintaining communication with key stakeholders, and participating in regular training and communication sessions with headquarters staff.

Requirements include a master’s degree (MA or MSW) preferred.  A minimum of two years experience in case management, preferably working with, serving, and advocating on behalf of immigrant and refugee children.  Experience in child welfare, child placements, and family preservation.  Prior experience with social services provision.  Must possess an extensive knowledge of immigrant community local resources.  Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.  Ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment. The Family Justice Center of New Orleans is searching for a case manager for its Transitional Housing Program. The Case Manager is responsible for coordinating client services and managing case records.  This position requires knowledge of the psychosocial development and functioning of clients.  It also requires the ability to manage documentation and coordination of all services to survivors.  The position requires the ability to effectively communicate with clients and related agencies.

Job Duties include:

  • Coordinate all services to clients served in the transitional housing program
  • Manage a case load of 20-40 clients at any given time
  • Ability to provide emergency crisis intervention
  • Provide educationally based support groups to survivors in the transitional housing program
  • Meet individually with each participating in the transitional housing program to complete an individualized plan of achievable goals and objectives, a working budget, and a safety plan
  • Offer victims any desired help in locating an apartment, negotiating a lease, arranging move-in, and transitioning into a new living situation
  • Contact every survivor participant in the transitional housing program at least once a week, and meet with each program participant monthly to identify concerns or issues
  • Provide three months of follow up case management services for all survivors who have exited or completed the transitional housing program
  • Assess the day-to-day needs of clients as it relates to their services.
  • Communicate on daily basis with the program coordinator staff and the executive director as appropriate.
  • Document significant events and information on their clients.
  • Maintains appropriate record keeping and statistical reports necessary for funding sources.
  • Acquire 40 hours of continuing education in domestic violence and sexual assault per year and provide documentation of those hours.
  • Attend Clinical Case Reviews weekly.
  • Attend Team, as well as monthly General Staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Educational requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in the human service field from an accredited college of university required, Masters Degree in social services or comparable field preferred. A minimum of two year of experience in the field of domestic violence, mental health, or substance abuse is desired.

College Track, a college preparatory and success program that helps traditionally under-served students from under-resourced communities graduate from high school and succeed in college, is searching for part-time Academic Mentors.
