SHOWER POWER — Sunlight illuminates flying beads of water as a sprinkler douses the Lavin-Bernick Center Quad on the Tulane University uptown campus. Several days with little rainfall, and patches of new grass requiring daily watering prompts the need for the man-made shower. The lawn’s automatic watering system measures rainfall, and shuts the system off when sufficient rain has fallen. In the background is Newcomb Hall.
