Life After Tulane

It's never too early to start thinking about life after Tulane. Be sure to take advantage of the following resources to start planning for what's next.

Career Center

The Tulane Career Center offers services to students for a variety of career needs, such as how to choose a major or a career path that best suits their interests, skills, and personal values.  It provides access to job and internship resources, helps with résumés and cover letters, conducts mock interviews, offers advice for graduate school preparation, and much more.

Graduate School Preparation

Postgraduate education is an opportunity for advanced study and preparation for a particular profession or field of research.  Students considering graduate programs should consult with faculty members in their field of interest and research the admission requirements and academic expectations of schools offering their desired advanced degree.

Internships

An internship should be considered a career-related learning experience.  The main goal of an internship is to give students exposure to a field of interest allowing them to begin developing professional experience and contacts in that field.  In some cases students may earn academic credit for work in conjunction with an internship.

Pre-Health & Pre-Law Advising

The pre-professional advisor assists students considering careers in law, medicine and medically-related fields.  Students pursuing these goals should consult the pre-professional advisor early in their undergraduate career.

Résumé Writing Tips

Your résumé is a written snapshot of you--a word picture of the unique combination of skills and qualities you offer an employer.  Because employers screen résumés in less than 10 seconds, your résumé should quickly capture the reader's interest.  There is an art to résumé writing; once learned, it can open doors to unlimited career opportunities.
