The Tulane School of Social Work partners with numerous community organizations to offer its students community outreach opportunities along with public lectures and even community education efforts. Below is a listing of upcoming events both at TSSW as well as in the community that focus or address a social need or offer a social service or learning opportunity.

Tuesday, Nov. 1 -- 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. South Africa Student Presentations
School of Social Work in Room 343
On Tuesday, November 11 from 12 p.m. -- 2 p.m., students who traveled to South Africa this past summer will be sharing their experiences gained in South Africa. The main focus of the study abroad was to gain a better understanding of community development practices in South Africa. Students will be sharing their experiences and provide valuable insight on the uniqueness of social work practice in South Africa. Those who are interested in global and macro social work are especially encouraged to attend this opportunity. Light lunch will be provided.
Friday, Dec. 12 -- 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. TSSW December Commencement
Dixon Hall on Tulane's Uptown Campus
The Tulane School of Social Work is very excited to announce that our school’s December Commencement Ceremony will be held on Friday, Dec. 12 at Dixon Hall on Tulane's Uptown Campus. Dixon Hall is located between Freret and Willow streets on Tulane's Uptown Campus. Dixon Hall is Building No. 68, so please consult this campus map for an exact location. Visitors can park in all spots NOT marked "Reserved All Hours" on Tulane's campus after 5:30 p.m.
The commencement ceremony will begin promptly at 7 p.m., and seating is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please try to arrive early to ensure you can receive the best seating possible. The ceremony should last about one hour, and there will be a reception following the commencement at the Lavin-Bernick Center.
