Invisible Cities

Tulane University first-year students in a seminar that contemplates the nature of cities find a shady green spot in Audubon Park to do so. The group, led by Andrew Stallings (top of circle in black T-shirt), were discussing an essay by literary journalist John McPhee that explores the man-made controls put upon the Mississippi River to keep its course from straying westward, away from the city. The seminar, which goes by the intriguing name "Invisible Cities," was part of the TIDES Program (Tulane InterDisciplinary Experience Seminars) that encourages active and engaged learning.
