Last stop for McDonogh No.11.

After several moves from its original location, John McDonogh School No. 11 sits at its final stop near South Claiborne Avenue between Canal and Cleveland streets as the University Medical Center rises around it. Built in 1879, the building was slated for demolition, rescued by preservationists, and currently awaits a new foundation. Its future use is yet to be decided.
