What is a Pelican Partner?
As parents of current Tulane students, Pelican Partners volunteer their time to help you as a new member of the Tulane community. Their role is to provide e-mail communication support to parents of prospective, new or current Tulane students. They can answer your questions about university resources, the Tulane culture, share their own stories and just provide extra support.
How can I volunteer to be a Pelican Partner?
If your region is not well represented by volunteers, we would love for you to serve as a Pelican Partner. Commitments run from September to September each year. There will be one webinar or conference call each semester to provide you with training and information. If you are interested, please e-mail email@example.com with "New Pelican Partner" in the subject line. Be sure to tell us your name, address and Tulane student's information.
How does it work?
It's very simple. All you have to do is e-mail any of the Pelican Partners who are listed on this site. The partners are organized by states to make it easier for you to connect to someone who lives in close to you. Important Note: Please make sure that you always put TULANE: Pelican Partner on the subject line to avoid having your e-mails accidentally deleted.
What should I do if I don’t get a response?
Please remember that Pelican Partners are volunteers - and busy parents just like you. If you feel that your questions are not being answered in a timely manner, feel free to contact the Office of Parent Programs at 1-877-TUP-WAVE or firstname.lastname@example.org.
