Research

Research Themes

  • Involvement in health, environmental, and energy related research
  • Involvement in computational and materials research

The research in the department currently focuses on two areas, Developmental and Regenerative Biology (Chen, Jones, Muneoka) and Neuroscience (Hall, Inglis, Schrader, Tasker, Vasudevan). The CMB faculty members are also actively engaged in cancer (Jones), environmental (Thien) and energy related (Mullin) research.

The CMB faculty has also begun to take the advantage of computational approaches, and applied it to their research. The department has recently established a close relationship with the recently established Tulane’s Center for Bioinformatics and Genomics. Three faculty members from this center have been appointed as adjunct professors in the CMB department.
