Roy A. Perrin, Jr. is President and CEO of Perrin Companies, a grouping of investment activities in equipment sales and services, and commercial real estate. He is former President and COO of Stewart Commercial Real Estate, Inc., and President and CEO of Alexander Industries, Inc. He served as an engineering officer in the U.S. Air Force, and has professional registrations in the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.
Mr. Perrin holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Tulane University. While at Tulane, he was President of the engineering student body, recipient of the James M. Robert Leadership Award, recipient of the University President’s Cup, and recognized in Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. In 1977, he was elected President of the Propeller Club Port of New Orleans, and in such capacity was instrumental in the formation of the School of Architecture and Marine Engineering at the University of New Orleans and recipient of its Distinguised Service award. In 1982, he was appointed by Governor David Treen to the Governor’s Task Force on the Port of New Orleans, and named an Honorary Harbor Master. In 1982, he was elected Rotary Club President, and named the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow for his service. He also served as a founding member and 1979 President of the Tulane Engineering Society, and a founder and President of the Metairie Rotary Club Scholarship Foundation.
Mr. Perrin is an Eagle Scout having served as Properties Vice-President on the Southeast Louisiana Boy Scout Council, and is a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award for Distinguished Service. Other professional and civic activities have included the Board of the World Trade Center, the Board of Advisors of the Tulane Engineering School, the Tulane Alumni Board, founder and Board of Advisor member for the University of New Orleans School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, the Metropolitan Crime Commission, Baptist Community Ministries, Board Chairman of the Christian Health Ministries Foundation, Board Chairman of Healthy Lifestyle Choices, and President of Westminster Foundation. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Louisiana Engineering Society, and graduate member of the Young President’s Organization.
Mr. Perrin is married to the former Kathleen Munch, the father of two married children, and has three grandchildren.
