The pediatric sickle cell clinic is for patients from 1 year until 18 year of age (or until they begin the transition program).  We provide care in a comprehensive setting that includes a specialized sickle cell nurse and a sickle cell social worker.  There is a focus on sickle cell disease treatment as well as on education and teaching both the patients and their parents.   

The program is located in the pediatric hematology clinic on the 5th floor of Tulane University Downtown Hospital at the Tulane Hospital for Children. 

The clinic is part of the Sickle Cell Center of Southern Louisiana (SCCSL).  The attending hematologists are Dr. Julie Kanter (Washko) and Dr. Tami Singleton.
