The adult sickle cell clinic provides comprehensive care to adults with sickle cell disease. This includes a comprehensive medial exam, laboratory evaluations, psycho-social evaluation and support, and focused education and teaching. Visits are scheduled every 3 to 6 months.
The clinic will focus on explaining sickle cell disease and its complications. We will focus on recognizing and avoiding future medical problems. We will further educate you about new medical research and treatments in the filed.
The clinic is held at the Tulane Comprehensive Cancer Center 150 South Liberty Street in downtown New Orleans. The clinic is part of the Sickle Cell Center of Southern Louisiana (SCCSL).
