An Elevation of Resting Metabolic Rate With Declining Health in Nonagenarians May Be Associated With Decreased Muscle Mass and Function in Women and Men, Respectively

Dr. S.M. Jazwinski led a team of Tulane researchers in a study of the "oldest old" (90 years and older) that was published in The Journals of Gerontology. The study found that the increased energy expended to maintain basic life functions in nonagenarians contributed to frailty. Read full article »
