Programs

Since its beginnings as the Medical College of Louisiana in 1834, Tulane School of Medicine has been, by definition, an instrument of service to the community. As diseases like yellow fever and malaria were rampant at the time of its founding, Tulane dedicated itself "to lead the advancement of science and the rational treatment of disease."

In its third century of service to New Orleans and the South, Tulane is more dedicated than ever to train physicians who make a difference locally, nationally and globally. To that end, Tulane has developed programs like TRuMEd, Tulane's rural medical education program, as well as accelerated degree programs like the MD/MPH 4-year program, the MD/MBA 5-year program and the 6-year TAP-TP program that includes both undergraduate and medical degrees and is followed by a year of public service through AmeriCorps.

There are numerous international opportunities as well. Students have studied in Japan and Columbia. Others have worked in Rwanda and started a non-profit organization in Haiti. The possibilities are limited only by your willingness to help the world become a better place.
