Global Health Management and Policy
For those interested in health systems, management, and policy: welcome to the new “Department of Global Health Management and Policy." You'll find your same professors on the 19t floor of the Tidewater Building. This group of faculty has decades of leadership and policy experience in healthcare delivery organizations, pharmaceutical organizations, national nonprofits, as well as international agencies and health care systems.
The new department will continue to offer three options at the master’s level:
The department will also continue to offer a PhD program with a focus on health services research.
Interested in working on Capitol Hill to make lasting, positive change in the health of Americans? In managing a hospital or other large healthcare facility? In strengthening health systems in countries outside the United States? In combining these interests with medical training through the MD/MPH program? If so, the new department is for you.
For those interested in International Health and Development: this program and its faculty have migrated to the Department of Global Community Health and Behavioral Sciences. With this change, GCHB has one of the largest and strongest behavioral & social science programs among the 50+ accredited schools of public health.
If you have questions about this change and want to discuss which option is best for you, don’t hesitate to contact our faculty or staff.
